US Authorities Seize $560000 in Cryptocurrency Linked to Hamas Funding and Online Platforms

On September 1, 2026, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced the seizure of over $560,000 in cryptocurrency donations meant for Hamas, along with control of the group’s websites and servers used for fundraising and recruitment. The FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office led the effort, penetrating encrypted networks like Telegram with confidential sources to seize addresses linked to Hamas’s Al Qassam Brigades. Officials noted one wallet alone received $1.57 million in USDT from late 2024 to early 2025, and the action gathered data on thousands of potential donors to aid future investigations. Assistant Attorney General John A. Eisenberg said it deprives Hamas of funds for recruitment and attacks like the one on October 7, 2023.
