Tense Clashes Erupt During 9/11 25th Anniversary Protests Near New York City Hall

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, far-right activist Jake Lang led a ‘Crusader March’ outside City Hall calling to deport Muslims, sparking clashes with counter-protesters that drew NYPD barriers and one arrest. Videos captured a man chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ repeatedly and transgender activist Qween Amor, in devil horns, ripping and stomping on Bible pages amid onlookers. Meanwhile, New York’s first Muslim mayor Zohran Mamdani attended the main memorial ceremony despite some families’ objections, shaking hands with former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as a victim’s son urged against spreading hate.
