In 2019, officers approached a house when a parrot near the entrance started shouting, “Mom, the police!”—clearly trained to warn its owners whenever uniforms showed up.
Despite the alert, the raid succeeded. The suspects were arrested, and the parrot was taken in too. Strangely, once at the station, the usually loud bird stayed completely silent—earning jokes that it “knew its rights.”
The parrot was later moved to a zoo, leaving behind its unusual role as a feathered alarm system.
