This Thursday, British radio station talkSPORT dropped a bombshell by reporting that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could be sharing a locker room, after many years of ‘fierce’ rivalry between the two.
The publication adds that the Portuguese international wants to play in the Club World Cup, which will take place between June 14 and July 13 in the United States of America, and for which ‘his’ Al Nassr has not qualified, so he could ‘change scenery’… albeit temporarily.
The aim would be to sign a short-term contract with a team that is taking part in the latest FIFA competition, and this is where Inter Miami comes in, having already shown their openness to providing this unexpected partnership.
The Americans also have room for maneuver to take in the 40-year-old, since only two of the three slots for designated players (i.e. those who exceed the MLS salary cap) are allocated to Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.
