During the 38th annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Missouri, driver Adam Seraphine and throttleman Rusty Williams set the day’s top speed on their 43-foot Skater catamaran, owned by Slug Hefner, before the dramatic airborne flip. Seraphine broke his leg, but Williams walked away unhurt, thanks to the boat’s safety features and rescue teams who arrived in seconds. The run earned the Top Gun title, and the event—which raises funds for local nonprofits—continued safely after the course cleared.
