Google took advantage of the I/O event to announce that the car version of its operating system – Android Auto – already has more than 200 million compatible cars on the road.

Note that this does not mean that Android Auto is installed in 200 million cars, with the figure referring only to vehicles whose drivers have the option of installing the operating system.

The vast majority of these cars also have the option of installing Apple’s rival CarPlay operating system.
