Drunk and Smoking Man Forces Emergency Landing in Spain

A man behaving in a “disruptive” manner on a flight between Agadir, Morocco, and Lyon, France, forced an emergency landing in Spain after failing to follow the crew’s instructions. According to Le Figaro, the suspect was arrested by Spanish authorities.

The suspect was easyJet flight EJU4484, which left Agadir at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, bound for Lyon, and had to land about an hour and a half later at Málaga airport, in southern Spain.

The company explained to the French newspaper that the landing was caused by “disruptive behavior by a passenger on board”.

The newspaper Le Progrès reported that the man was drunk and smoking on board the plane, and was arrested by Spanish authorities when they landed in Málaga.

The plane took off again towards Saint-Exupéry airport in Lyon, where it landed about three hours late.
