A woman has been arrested in Minnesota, USA, for running over her boyfriend as they headed to a couple’s therapy session together.
According to US media, it all happened on 10 August. Veronica Roleen Gast, 30, and her boyfriend were on their way to a counselling session to help recover their relationship when he told her he wanted to end it.
The woman reacted violently, suddenly stopping the car in the middle of a street and throwing him out of the vehicle.
The boyfriend, who has not been identified, ran off towards the pavement, but Veronica accelerated and ran him over. The man fell onto the bonnet of the car, breaking the windscreen. Fortunately, he only suffered a cut to his right elbow.
Veronica claims not to have seen her boyfriend walking in front of the vehicle, but the victim claims that she gave him a suspicious look as she sped off.
Although she later stopped to assist her ex-boyfriend and even called the authorities, Veronica was eventually arrested and charged with second-degree assault, as well as criminal driving of a vehicle, bodily injury, domestic violence and gross negligence.
The victim and the suspect lived together and had been dating for just over a year.
