Ex-Juvenile Counselor Faces Felony Charges for Sex with Teen Client

Sofia Ann-Buitron Drotts, a 26-year-old former behavioral health clinician at John Davis Juvenile Detention Center in Martinez, faces seven felony charges for a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy she counseled. The acts allegedly happened after his release, from April 1 to July 14, 2026, leading to her arrest on charges like unlawful intercourse, oral copulation, and possession of child pornography. The boy’s family filed a claim against Contra Costa County, alleging supervisors ignored warning signs, while Drotts was released from custody pending arraignment.
