Singer D4vd Ordered to Stand Trial for Murder of 14-Year-Old Girl

A Los Angeles judge ruled Monday that David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, must stand trial for first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and mutilation of remains after a preliminary hearing showed probable cause. Prosecutors presented texts, DNA evidence, and records of chainsaw and body bag purchases tied to the April 2025 killing of Celeste, whom he met online at age 11; her threats to expose their relationship allegedly prompted the crime. The 21-year-old singer, behind hits like ‘Romantic Homicide,’ remains in custody without bail, with DA Nathan Hochman considering the death penalty—the first in California since 2006—as her family awaits justice.
