A man was photographed sleeping in the River Ganges, in India, at a time when the country has been experiencing high temperatures. The image was taken on June 18 in the city of Varanasi, according to Extra.
In recent weeks, the country has seen minimum temperatures above 30 degrees, even at night. In some regions, thermometers have exceeded 50 degrees. At the end of May, the country’s capital recorded a record temperature of 52.3 degrees.
In addition to the heat, there is also a crisis of water and energy shortages, with several power cuts having already taken place in some areas.
The latest official figures confirm that more than 200 people have died as a result of the heat.
