Alejandra Rodríguez had everything to be just another lawyer and journalist. But the now-model is making headlines all over the world. All because she won the Miss Universe beauty contest in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 60.
Now, Alejandra Rodríguez could represent the country in the international edition of Miss Universe. For that to happen, all she needs to do is beat the other 27 finalists from the national stages. The fact that she’s not a model by profession and, above all, that she’s 60 years old, makes everyone want to know who this woman is that everyone is talking about. The journalist and lawyer lives and works in La Plata, Buenos Aires, and is making her debut at the event. In this edition too, the age limit has been abolished. Until then, only women aged between 18 and 28 could take part.
Alejandra Rodríguez is single
“I had never signed up. Now this opportunity has arisen and it seemed like a challenge, a very interesting proposal. It was a very thoughtful decision, but thanks to the director of Miss Universe Buenos Aires, I decided to enter at the age of 60,” she says in an interview with TN. To the organizers of the event, Alejandra Rodríguez describes herself as someone who likes nature, sun, tranquillity, animals, sitting in front of the sea listening to the sound of the waves and meditating. Her hobbies include walking, playing sport, cooking, going out with friends, poetry, traveling and discovering new landscapes.
“Beauty isn’t just about the body”
It is also known that Alejandra Rodríguez is not married and is single. However, it is not known whether she has any children or grandchildren. According to La Nación, the model’s secret to preventing ageing is to opt for healthy food, preferably organic. “Beauty isn’t just about your physique, it’s about your attitude to life, which goes beyond aesthetics. That’s why I think the contest is here to break down these stereotypes, and that’s what’s giving her so much visibility,” she told TN.
