Sony Announces New Top of the Range. Find out the price

Sony has officially announced the Xperia 1 VI, a new top-of-the-range device that – despite its similar design to its predecessor – has some substantial differences.

The biggest are on the screen. Instead of the 21:9 proportions that have marked Sony’s latest devices, the Xperia 1 VI adopts the more traditional 19.5:9. In addition, Sony has decided to limit the screen to a FullHD+ resolution instead of the 4K of the latest phones.

Otherwise, you can count on a 6.5-inch LPTO AMOLED screen with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a choice between 12GB and 16GB of RAM, a choice between 256GB and 512GB of internal storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless fast charging and a triple camera with three 48MP sensors, 12MP (ultra wide angle) and 12MP (telephoto).

The Xperia 1 VI has Android 14 pre-installed, with Sony indicating that owners will be able to count on updates to the operating system for three years and security patches for four years.

The Xperia 1 VI will be available in black, green and silver, with a fourth version in red being exclusive to Japan. This top-of-the-range Sony will be available from the beginning of June for a price of 1.521 USD or 1,399 euros.
