USA. “Predator” Sentenced to 30 Years After Purposely Spreading HIV

A man was sentenced, on Friday, to 30 years in prison, after it was proven that he was trying to transmit the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) to other men and also teenagers, in the North American state of Idaho.

According to North American publications, the arrest and subsequent conviction followed an investigation that began in August.

Last year, the investigation began with suspicions of child grooming, when the 34-year-old suspect began a conversation with a sexual content with a person he believed to be 15 years old. The person ‘over there’ was an Ada County agent.

“Alexander Louie arranged a sexual encounter with the person he believed to be the boy and was arrested. As the investigation continued, authorities discovered that Mr. Louie, who is HIV positive, was not taking his medication and purposefully had sexual contact with men and teenage boys in the hope of transmitting HIV to them. He lied to these victims about his health status. According to the defendant’s own admissions, he had sexual relations with 30 to 50 different men and boys, including a 16-year-old teenager.” , explained the authorities, cited by the North American press.

According to the publications, 16 of the 30 years to which the man was sentenced must be served in prison, and only then will he be eligible for possible parole.

“This defendant’s repeated and serious infractions have had a negative impact on many people in our community”, explained the attorney general’s office, highlighting the “hard work” that was carried out by the police forces and which resulted in the conviction of a “predator”.
