Trump’s Victory “Key to Keeping” NATO “Strong”

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte congratulated Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States, which he said would help keep the Alliance strong.

Ina message posted on the social network X, Rutte said that the leadership of Trump, who returns to the White House after a first term (2017-2021), “will once again be key to keeping our Alliance strong”.

“I look forward to working with him again to promote peace through strength, through NATO,” he said.

Trump proclaimed his victory over Democrat Kamala Harris in the presidential election in a speech from Florida in the early hours of this morning, as he awaits confirmation and officialization, when US media projections put him just three electoral votes away from reaching the 270 needed to return to the White House.
