Russia Launched Over One Hundred Missiles Against Ukraine

Russia launched a massive combined attack against Ukraine today, which is still ongoing and in which it is using around a hundred missiles as well as Iranian Shahed ‘kamikaze drones’, according to the Ukrainian President.

It was one of the biggest attacks, a combined attack. ‘More than a hundred missiles of different types and about a hundred Shahed drones’ were used, said Volodymyr Zelensky, in a video broadcast on the X social network shortly after 13:00 local time (minus two hours in Lisbon).

The Ukrainian President added that the attack was aimed at civilian infrastructure.

According to the Ukrainian air force, the attack was still underway with several groups of Shahed ‘kamikaze drones’ heading towards various regions of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian head of state said that several people had died in the attack and referred to the large number of Ukrainian regions affected.

According to the Ukrainian regional authorities, four civilians were killed in four regions of the country during the attack, which affected 15 of Ukraine’s 24 administrative regions.

‘There is a lot of damage to the energy system,’ said Zelensky, adding that work is underway to restore supplies in the areas where blackouts occurred.

Zelensky labelled Russian President Vladimir Putin a ‘sick creature’ and said that the Kremlin leader ‘can only do what the world allows him to do’.

‘Weakness, a lack of determination in response, feeds terror,’ said the Ukrainian President about the reaction he expects from his Western allies.

Zelensky called on his allies to lift all the restrictions they still impose on Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons sent to it from within the Russian Federation.

‘There can be no restrictions on Ukraine’s long-range [actions] when terrorists have no such restrictions.

‘Pro-lifers can’t have restrictions on weapons when Russia uses its own weapons of all kinds, [‘drones’] ‘Shahed’ and North Korean ballistic missiles,’ Zelensky said.

Iran and North Korea supply Russia with Shahed drones and ballistic missiles, respectively, which the Kremlin forces constantly use to attack Ukrainian territory.

‘The United States, the United Kingdom, France and other partners have the capacity to help us end terrorism. We need solutions,’ emphasised Zelensky.

As well as calling for Kiev to be authorised to attack all military targets inside Russia with Western weapons, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba had already demanded that Ukraine’s Western partners start shooting down drones in NATO territories that approach their airspace.
