The Russian Defense Ministry revealed today that anti-aircraft defenses shot down 29 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over four regions of the country, 20 of which were over the Briansk region, on the border with Ukraine.
This information was released via Telegram, with the Russian Defense Ministry specifying that the aircraft were shot down during the night of Saturday.
According to the military report, in addition to the 20 unmanned aircraft shot down in the region near the border with Ukraine, there were also seven drones shot down in the Kaluga region, located about 140 kilometers away from the closest point of the border, and another two destroyed over the Smolensk and Kursk regions, part of which has been under occupation by Ukrainian troops since August.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that the country’s troops took control of two other locations in the Donetsk region, in eastern Ukraine, namely Petrivka and Illinka.
Petrivka is located about 10 kilometers south of the city of Pokrovsk, one of Ukraine’s strongholds in Donetsk and a key target of the Russian offensive.
The town of Illinka, on the other hand, is located near Kurakhove, a town that had about 20,000 inhabitants before the war and which has been the scene of intense fighting.
