The controversial show performed by singer Madonna on Brazilian soil continues to have repercussions. On the internet, people are selling controversial items as if they were event collectibles. Of the most bizarre, one stands out: supposed portions of sand on Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro.
The item was put on sale for a unit price of 8.99 US dollars, the equivalent of 46 reais at the current market price. The interesting thing is that the commercialization was successful, as one person agreed to pay the amount to have a portion of the supposed Copacabana sand in their hands.
Sand is sold as if it were a collectible item
In the description made on a marketplace website in the United States, the seller guarantees that the portion containing 30 grams of sand would be “an exclusive collectible item from the Madonna Celebration Tour in Rio de Janeiro”.
Furthermore, the seller left a suggestive message for potential buyers, urging them to have the item in their personal collections as if it were something essential for any Madonna fan. “It’s a perfect addition to any collection of memorabilia and travel souvenirs,” he said.
Disposable cups are also sold
Other equally controversial accessories, supposedly taken from Madonna’s concert in Rio de Janeiro, have also been sold on the internet. For example, there are those who sell exclusive thermal cups with the event sponsor’s brand and which were given to those who were in the VIP area. The value is in the range of 480 US dollars, approximately 2.5 thousand reais at the current exchange rate. Those who want to make less expensive investments can purchase two plastic cups supposedly given away at the show for the cost of 99 US dollars, or 500 reais.
