Video surveillance cameras in several areas of the French Quarter in New Orleans, USA, captured the moment when Shamsud Din Jabbar, driving a white van, sped down a street, intending to injure and kill.
The images – which may offend the sensibilities of more sensitive readers – show the speed at which the suspect ran down the street, while several people tried to flee or hide inside a building.
The accident, which is suspected to have been motivated by terrorism, left 15 people dead and more than three dozen injured.

The attack took place during New Year’s Eve celebrations and when the city was also packed with people for the Sugar Bowl, a college football game that takes place this Thursday with thousands of people in attendance.
