The company responsible for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, Meta, has announced that its chat bot equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Meta AI – will arrive on its main platforms in 41 European countries.
It’s worth remembering that Meta AI was set to be launched in the US in 2023, with the tech giant being prevented from doing so after regulators in Ireland prevented the AI from being trained with posts from Facebook and Instagram users.
It is known that, for the time being, Meta AI in Europe will not be able to be used to generate or edit images, as well as to ask questions about photographs.
“This launch comes after a year of intense interaction with various European regulators and, for now, we only offer a text model in the region that has not been trained with data from users in the European Union. We will continue to work in collaboration with regulators so that people in Europe can have access to Meta’s AI innovations that are already available to the rest of the world,” reads the company’s statement shared with The Verge.
Note that this launch of Meta AI will take place gradually.
