FC Barcelona, who needed to win on Monday, April 29 after Girona climbed to second place in the Spanish league, achieved their goal by beating Valencia 4-2 on matchday 33.
The Catalans’ goals came from Fermín López in the 22nd minute and a hat-trick from Robert Lewandowski in the 49th, 82nd and 90th minutes, while Hugo Duro scored in the 27th minute and Pepelu, from the penalty spot, in the 38th minute.
With this result, FC Barcelona regain second place in La Liga with 73 points, while Valencia CF remain in eighth place with the same 47 points.
