Landry N’Guémo Has Died. Former Cameroon International Aged 38

This Thursday, world soccer is mourning the death of Landry N’Guémo, a former Cameroon international who, during his professional career, represented clubs such as Celtic, Bordeaux, Saint-Étienne and Kayserispor.

According to reports in French newspaper L’Équipe, the former player did not survive the injuries caused by an accident involving a truck in his home country, where he had been living since 2019, when he left Norwegian club Kongsvinger and retired.

A graduate of Nancy, the former defensive midfielder made a name for himself in French soccer, where he won a League Cup in 2005/06 with Nancy and a Cup in 2012/13 with Bordeaux.

At international level, he made 41 appearances for Cameroon’s senior national team and even took part in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
