The socialite was detained by the GNR in order to be brought before the first judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
José Castelo Branco is accused of domestic violence against Betty Grafstein. His wife, to whom he has been married for 30 years, has been in hospital since April.
The socialite was due to appear on ‘Dois às 10’ today, May 7, and presenters Cristina Ferreira and Cláudio Ramos had reconfirmed the interview before the break in the first part of the program. However, the news of José Castelo Branco’s arrest came out shortly afterwards.
