Instagram has announced that it will give users the ability to share their location with their friends through private messages.
This sharing will be active for a period of one hour, enough to allow friends to meet up for shows, festivals and other events of this type.
The feature is similar to what was popularized by Snapchat and also WhatsApp but, unfortunately, it is not available in all territories where Instagram is present. The social network only says that the new feature is present in “certain countries” but does not indicate which ones, so we will have to wait for more information.
This is not the only new feature introduced by Instagram in the social network’s private messages. The platform will allow you to give nicknames to your friends, both in individual conversations and in group conversations. What’s more, you can stop your friends from doing this if you don’t like the name you’ve been given.
