How Much Did Dani Olmo Cost Barcelona? Laporta Unravels Mystery

The Blaugranas paid 47 million euros to sign the European champion from RB Leipzig.

Joan Laporta revealed on Saturday how much Barcelona invested to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig in the last transfer market, in the summer, after the 26-year-old had won the European Championship with the Spanish national team. At the club’s General Assembly, the president praised the work of Deco, the sporting director, and dispelled the mystery.

“We’ve been very careful with our signings. Our sporting director has done very well and the only signings have been Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. We’re talking about a total of 50 million euros and Olmo cost 47,” said Laporta, quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

At the same ceremony, Barcelona’s president guaranteed that the club had also made a profit of 81 million euros from loans and sales, but refused to divulge further details.

It should be noted that Dani Olmo, who signed a contract valid until 2030 and was ‘shielded’ by a termination clause of 500 million euros, has scored three goals in three games, having been injured in September.
