Manchester City are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Scott Carson to renew his contract, with just over a month left to run.
According to information published this Thursday by the British newspaper Daily Mail, the goalkeeper will remain at the Etihad at least until he turns 39, despite the limited use he has received since arriving from Derby County in the summer of 2019.
In this period of almost five years, the England international has been used in just… two games, the first in May 2021 against Newcastle and the second in March 2022, when he replaced Ederson Moraes in the closing stages of the game against Sporting.
Pep Guardiola has already made it known on more than one occasion that he considers the ‘veteran’ goalkeeper to be essential, above all, in maintaining the spirit of the team, so he will continue to be a ‘pillar’ until June 2025.
