Harris and Trump Cross Campaign Paths in North Carolina

The Democratic candidate for president of the United States, Kamala Harris, begins the day today at a rally in North Carolina, a decisive state for the outcome of the November 5 elections, where Republican rival Donald Trump will also be present.

Trump is expected to focus his speech in Rocky Mount on the economic component, in a state where polls reveal that more than half of voters chose inflation as the main political problem for the next President.

The Republican’s campaign has used television advertising times with ‘spots’ that remind people of North Carolina that they pay around 100 euros more per month than last year to put food on the table, accusing Democratic President Joe Biden of incompetence in controlling inflation.

Polls indicate that Harris and Trump are literally tied in this crucial state – 46% to 46% – with just 4% of the electorate undecided and another 4% announcing their vote for other candidates.

In Wisconsin, another key state for the electoral outcome, Harris will later appear alongside a diverse musical cast, with names such as Gracie Abrams, Remi Wolf, Mumford & Sons, and Aaron Dessner and Matt Berninger from the band The National.

This alignment is part of the Democratic campaign’s final strategy to try to appeal to the young vote, believing that these musical moments will attract this section of the electorate to Harris’ rallies.

In Madison, the Democratic candidate will be in a friendly environment, as the rally takes place in a progressive area of the state, where the University of Wisconsin contributes a significant portion of the vote to her party.

Harris also continues with the strategy of trying to capture the vote of moderate Republicans, who may be out of alignment with Trump as a reason to “cross the wall” to the Democratic side.

After appearing alongside Liz Cheney – former Assistant Secretary of State in the government of Republican President George W. Bush and eldest daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney – now it is the turn of Barbara Bush, one of this president’s daughters Bush, announce support for Kamala Harris.

With a week to go until the elections, Barbara Bush, who defines herself as an independent, was encouraged by the way Harris seeks to defend women’s rights and expressed her political support for her.
