Hannah was 18 and the daughter of tycoon Mike Lynch. The information is being reported in the Italian press.
This Friday, Italian rescue teams found the body of the last person missing following the sinking of the luxury yacht ‘Bayesian’ off the coast of Sicily.
According to the Italian press, it is Hannah, the 18-year-old daughter of British tycoon Mike Lynch, who also died in the incident.
Her body, like those of the other victims, was found inside one of the yacht’s cabins, but has not yet been removed.
On Thursday, it was announced that the bodies of all the men reported missing had been found and recovered. According to the local coastguard, the wreckage of Mike Lynch’s yacht only contained the body of a woman, his daughter.
The British-flagged yacht ‘Bayesian’ sank on Monday off the coast of the town of Porticello during a heavy storm when 22 people were on board, 12 passengers and 10 crew. Fifteen were rescued alive by the coastguard.
The first of the bodies rescued hours after the tragedy was that of the ship’s cook, Recaldo Thomas, a Canadian born on the island of Antigua.
After the first body was found, Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, the chairman of the Morgan Stanley International bank, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife (Judy) and the businessman’s lawyer, Chris Morvillo, and his wife (Neda) were reported missing.
The Termini-Imerese Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into what happened on Monday night and questioned the yacht’s captain, James Catfield, a 51-year-old New Zealander and one of the survivors, for more than two hours in a hotel.
