The Alberto Joaquim Chipande Foundation, whose patron is the general of the same name, has decided to react to the various questions raised in the press and social networks about its alleged links to Christian Malanga, who led the attempt to overthrow the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In a statement, the Foundation “vehemently” repudiates the violence and the attempt to change the constitutional order and seeks to distance itself from Malanga, despite the fact that he has held meetings with Chipande.
“The Foundation reiterates that it has no links whatsoever with the illicit actions of Mr. Christian Malanga, as well as reaffirming its commitment to the values of promoting peace, legality and social development,” reads the note, which also encourages the authorities to thoroughly investigate Malanga’s entry and activities in Mozambique, “ensuring that any infractions are punished in accordance with the law”.
