The summer transfer market opens in less than two months’ time and Barcelona are already on the lookout for a proven player who can add creativity to the attack, a sector that has been a ‘headache’ for Xavi Hernández this season.
This Saturday, the Spanish newspaper Sport once again reports that the board led by Joan Laporta is interested in Bernardo Silva, a Portuguese international who they have been monitoring for many months and whose contract now has a termination clause of 50 million pounds (58.5 million euros), which is considered affordable.
The interest is such that the Catalans are even seriously considering the possibility of offering the former Benfica forward Lionel Messi’s ‘mythical’ number 10 jersey, which currently has no ‘owner’ in the squad.
Another possibility on the table is to hand over the jersey (which, it should be remembered, passed to Ansu Fati after the Argentine left for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, but without much success) to Lamine Yamal.
