The President of the Republic of Angola, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, has approved the purchase of the latest model of the Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft for use by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço. Sold for 75 million dollars, the Bombardier Global 7500 is a luxurious long-range executive jet with 19 seats. Delivery was scheduled for November 2023.
According to consultations, since coming to power, President João Lourenço has spent around half a billion dollars on purchases of luxury presidential aircraft. The conclusion is supported by calculations for the plane for the First Lady (75 million dollars), the luxurious Boeing 787 (320 million euros), annual rental costs (more than 44 million dollars) and other operating costs.
