Intel has announced that it has chosen a new CEO to lead the company. The name chosen is Lip-Bu Tan, a well-known veteran of the semiconductor industry.
It is worth remembering that Intel decided to remove its former CEO, Pat Gelsinger, at the end of last year and that, in the meantime, it had two people in the position – David Zinsner and Michelle Johnston Holthaus – while it looked for someone to take over.
“Intel has a powerful and differentiated computing platform, a vast installed customer base and a robust manufacturing footprint that is getting stronger every day as we rebuild our path,” said the new CEO according to the Engadget website. “I look forward to joining the company and continuing to build on all the work the Intel team has done to position our business for the future.”
Lip-Bu Tan starts work as Intel’s CEO on March 18th.
