Practically everyone has heard that women reach their sexual peak in their thirties. That is when female sex life is at its best. And from then on everything changes. Women stop feeling as attractive and sexual relations stop being as pleasurable. But is it really so? According to a study developed by Natural Cycles [the first application certified as a contraceptive], this idea couldn’t be further from the truth.
Close to three thousand women responded to a standardized questionnaire that measures female sexuality in different aspects. And the results were surprising considering the three distinct groups of women: young (under 23 years old), average (23-36 years old) and older (over 36 years old). The results are clear. Orgasms, attraction levels, and pleasurable sex get better with age. Women in the “older” group revealed greater confidence in relation to their bodies. Younger women are the most dissatisfied with their bodies. Despite feeling sexy and attractive, younger women had the worst results in orgasm frequency. Older women (58% of this group) say they have more pleasurable sex and a greater number of orgasms. In terms of the pleasure of sexual intercourse, younger women are once again in last place.
Sexual relationships get better over the years, a reality that applies to both women and men
The study reveals that the best orgasms occur at age 36 and beyond. The data also allows us to see that female sexual life improves over the years. In practically all categories, the youngest come in third place and the oldest come first. Which shows that the idea that a woman’s sexual peak happens before 30 couldn’t be further from reality.
As far as men are concerned, another study argues that men have, on average, three orgasms per week when they are in their twenties. Number that decreases when a man becomes thirty. However, as with women, men also derive more pleasure from sexual relations as they age. In their 30s, men have greater control and can have sexual intercourse for thirty minutes without ejaculation.
