The tycoon Elon Musk has been heavily criticized for his work at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the service of the Trump administration, with Tesla being particularly ‘targeted’ by critics.
Now, in an interview with Fox News, Musk hints that he may be leaving the DOGE in May. “I think we’re going to complete most of the work necessary to reduce the deficit by $1 trillion within the 130-day period,” says Musk.
Assuming that this 130-day period began with Trump’s inauguration on January 20, it seems that on May 30 it will be time for Musk to step down from these temporary duties and return to focusing 100% on his companies.
