9-Year-Old Boy Saves Parents During Oklahoma Tornado

A 9-year-old boy managed to save his parents’ lives after the van they were riding in was hit by a tornado and thrown into trees in Oklahoma, USA.

Brason managed to get out of the vehicle to call for help. He ran for more than a mile alone in the dark, between power lines that were lying on the ground, and eventually found a neighbor who helped him.

The father broke his back, neck, sternum, ribs and arm and lost part of a finger. The mother suffered a punctured lung and a broken back, neck, jaw, ribs and right hand. They are both in intensive care.

“He only found his way back because of the lightning that lit up the road. He ran as fast as he could; he did a kilometer and a half in 10 minutes. That’s impressive for a child. The last thing I said to them was, ‘Mom, Dad, please don’t die. I’m coming back,’” said the child’s uncle, Johnny Baker, quoted by CBS News.

The tornadoes left a trail of destruction in the US state of Oklahoma over the weekend. At least four people died, dozens were injured and many lost their homes, businesses and property.
