Jakub Jan Konkel, 40, from Poland, was stopped at the Port of Harwich in Essex on September 5 last year after arriving from the Netherlands with a legitimate load of Skims clothing. An X-ray revealed 90 kilograms of cocaine worth £7.2 million hidden in the trailer doors; he admitted detouring to pick it up for payment. Chelmsford Crown Court sentenced him to 13 years and six months on Monday, forfeiting his truck and phone, with deportation to follow. The bust disrupted a major smuggling ring using trusted apparel shipments, as confirmed by the National Crime Agency.
