Bellevue Officer Stabbed in Suspected Fake 911 Ambush

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Mohamed Morray Bangura made the anonymous 911 call reporting an argument near 10850 NE 6th Street, luring officers to the scene. Body camera video captured Bangura pulling a kitchen knife, lunging at Officer Guilherme Spagnolo, then slashing and stabbing Winebrenner, who suffered a six-inch facial gash, back wounds, a broken clavicle, and dislocated shoulder. Spagnolo fired three shots to stop the assault; Winebrenner was released from Harborview Medical Center, while Bangura remained in serious condition. Bangura faces first- and second-degree assault charges with $5 million bail requested, linked to a prior grudge over a church harassment report.
