Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, or CHS, brings cycles of intense nausea, stomach pain, and uncontrollable vomiting after years of daily cannabis use, especially with high-potency products. Emergency room visits for CHS surged fivefold from 2016 to 2022, reaching 22.3 per 100,000, possibly linked to legalization and stronger THC. Hot showers offer temporary calm, but quitting cannabis is the only cure; personal accounts describe weeks of suffering that ended after stopping.
