US police continue to search for the man who fatally shot UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in the United States. As the searches develop, more clues emerge and the latest indicate that the suspect had used a false identity during his stay in New York and arrived in the city by bus, according to CNN International, citing sources linked to the investigation.
The bus on which the man arrived in New York started the route in Atlanta, but authorities still don’t know whether the suspect started the trip from that city or elsewhere. It is certain that the shooter was caught on a video surveillance camera leaving the bus, around 9 pm on November 24, while walking through the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
Police also believe that the shooter, when he arrived in New York City ten days before the murder, checked into an Upper West Side hostel. He left the lodge on November 29th and used a fake New Jersey driver’s license to check in again on November 30th.
In the room, the suspect reportedly stayed with two other men and wore a mask for most of the stay.
In the photo of the suspect released by police on Thursday, it is possible to see the man smiling during an interaction with an employee of the hostel where he stayed, on the Upper West Side. A clue that experts consider to be “significant” for research.
