Wall Street Journal And Sun Owner Reaches Agreement With OpenAI

News Corp – which owns publications such as The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch and The Sun – has entered into an agreement with OpenAI to help train the technology company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) models.

As part of this agreement, says The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI will have access to articles from News Corp publications for five years – a period that will see the technology company pay around 250 million euros (230.5 million euros).

“The digital age has been characterized by the dominance of distributors, often at the expense of creators and many media companies that have been swept away by a remorseless technological wave. Now the onus is on us to take advantage of this providential opportunity,” said the head of News Corp, Robert Thomson.
