Punk rock band Gel, who were due to perform at the Coachella festival in the US, have split after one of their guitarists embezzled money from the group to sign up for several modeling accounts on OnlyFans.
The New Jersey-based band announced the sudden split to their fans in a lengthy social media post on Wednesday (19/3). Coachella will be held in April in California.
“Gel is no longer a band and will therefore not be performing any of our upcoming shows currently scheduled,” the statement reads.
According to the now-disbanded band, Anthony Webster committed “such heinous acts” that they caused “irreparable harm” to the band and its other members.
Webster allegedly diverted the money for the “unbelievable amount” of subscriptions, among other improper expenses, according to his former partners, directly from Gel’s bank account.
