The 80-year-old MP from Queensland demanded deportation for those with anti-Australian sentiments, pushing a no-migration-without-assimilation policy that screens for shared values like democracy and rule of law. While some praised his blunt stand, critics called it racist, pointing to his own Lebanese migrant father’s arrival in the 1930s.
